About the Project

Palun Khola Small Hydropower Project (PKSHP) is a run of river hydropower project with the installed capacity of 21 MW, design discharge of 8.69 m3/s and gross head of 299.50 m. PKSHP is located in Taplejung district, Province number 1 of Eastern Development Region (EDR) of Nepal. The project components of PKSHP are located in Papung VDC. 

The proposed project lies between 87˚ 37′ 16″ E to 87˚ 38′ 38″ E and 27˚ 32′ 38″ N to 27˚ 33′ 55″ N. The headworks is located in the right bank about 40 m downstream of confluence of Palun Khola and Sona Khola. Powerhouse is located in the right bank of Palun River approximately 200 m upstream from the confluence of Palun Khola and Mewa Khola.
